Welcome to a New Season of Ice Cats Hockey

By Richard Scammell 10/23/2017, 11:15pm EDT

The 2017-18 season is underway and there is lots of enthusiasm surrounding our 19U, 14U and 12U Ice Cats teams.  Our 12U team has a full roster and we have welcomed many new faces to the team.  They are a young team but the skill level is good and team chemistry is great.  These players are the future of the Ice Cats and they are providing a sound foundation for our program for years to come.

Our 14U and 19U teams also have new players and we are looking for productive seasons from both teams.  Having a successful season depends on more than just the players.  Our coaches put in long hours to develop the players and make sure that everything runs smoothly.  Our head coaches, Bill Kennedy, Tom Hudy and Jennifer Speck are doing great jobs with their teams.

And finally, I know all the parents will provide positive support for their daughters as the season progresses.  Enjoy watching them play.  They are playing for their team, their teammates and especially for you.  It should be a fun winter!

Thanks,

Message to our Ice Cats Players and Families

The 2016-17 season has just ended and all four of our teams had successful seasons.  Our 19U, 16U and 12U teams made it through Sectionals and advanced to States.

It was especially exciting for our 12U team.  They are very young and were experiencing a State Tournament for the first time.  It was a time of discovery for them as they found out that they were competitive with the other teams at the tournament.

8 seniors are graduating from our 19U team.  They are going to great schools where they will begin a new 4 year journey to get them ready for the world.  The schools they will be attending include RPI, Boston College, UVM, RIT, Cornell, Saint Anselm and SUNY Canton.

I would like to thank all of our coaches for their efforts in making their players and teams better and all of the parents for providing positive support for their daughters.

We are getting ready for a new season and we look forward to improving the program and welcoming new players to our Ice Cats teams.

Thanks,
